In 1965, Don Davidson , Willie Richardson, Ralph Wilmes and Bill Dolan formed a new corporation with Sledge Ernst, the owner of Ernst Hardware at that time and, whose family had owned the business since 1910. Bill Dolan's experience was primarily in irrigation and, combined with the John Deere dealership, the irrigation business grew over the years. Ernst Hardware merged with the Fisher Implement Company in 1999, at which time Ernst Irrigation was created as a division of the Fisher-Ernst Group. On January 31st, 2009 Ernst Irrigation was purchased by the second generation of the Davidsons and the Dolans.
